Succulents, Desert Rose and Crown of thorns like a well draining soil that will allow water to not keep the plant wet for long periods of time. Usually a well draining mix is created by mixing 2/3 regular potting soil with 1/3 perlite. For plants that require less water 1/2 and 1/2 is acceptable. Peat moss can be added as well, but more careful watering must be observed.
