Landscaping and Xeroscape Garden

Landscaping a succulent garden is quite simple and rewarding. Look for a spot that you have around the house that nothing seems to grow and that’s most likely the perfect place for a succulent or xeroscape garden.

Find an Area that you would like to turn into a succulent garden.

Find an area to be planted.

Make sure to clean it completely to remove all weeds and dig down to remove unwanted dirt from the area.

Clear it to remove all weeds and debris.

Prep your area with the border you would like to have. Make sure to go deep enough to prevent movement or weeds from creeping in as well as using a landscaping fabric to prevent weeds from growing, this is always optional but recommended.

Secure border and add landscaping fabric.

Place the soil in the newly created bed and make sure it is the appropriate soil for the plants that are being planted. Succulent require well draining soil and might need to be mixed with a combination or perlite, peat moss, sand or other well draining material. Once the soil is in make sure to arrange your succulents to make sure they are in the spot you want them before planting.

Add soil and arrange plants in order wanted.

Finally plant your succulents and make sure you have put adequate soil and when complete, finish with a nice ground cover like pea gravel or decomposed granite.
